Govern: Manage the core services of the SCGA including handicapping and the Rules of Golf.
Thought and executional leadership in policy & advocacy work supporting golf in the region and operational excellence across all business functions.
Advance: Support the health of the game being mindful of environmental, social and societal changes.
Continue growth of the next generation of golfers through promotion and support of the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation and champion a purposeful DEI effort.
Job Summary: The Coordinator, Member Services is responsible for providing customer support in all aspects of SCGA membership, and Handicap education.
As part of the Member Services department the Coordinator is responsible for supporting most core service functions of the Association.
This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt position), with a pay rate of $24.
00 per hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Answers incoming phone calls, e-mails and all other forms of communication relating to duties of the job and the department; Counsels club Handicap Committees on World Handicap System protocols; Provides various forms of customer support for Tournament Management; Assists individual SCGA members with inquiries and fulfill member club requests; Participates in club and individual membership process, including renewal; Handles and performs other duties and projects as assigned by the Assistant Director, Member Services & Office Operations, and Director, Club Services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work independently while also effectively interacting and collaborating with member services team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion to troubleshoot issues and effectively problem solve.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse professional audience; flexibility to customize communication approach to a variety of communication styles and personalities.
Demonstrated ability to quickly build rapport and respond to member inquiries and concerns in a compassionate manner.
Active listener with the ability to effectively resolve conflicts.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with members and golf course staff.
Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented, and adheres to deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor while under pressure.
Ability to meet productivity and quality standards of the Member Services department.
Promotes quality standards; proactively seeks ways to improve efficiency and increase productivity.
Analytical thinker with the ability to process diverse information.
Positively participates in a team environment and is supportive of others.
Adapts well to changes in the work environment and implements effective changes to improve results.
Is accurate and thorough.
Familiar with Golf Genius Tournament Management software and HubSpot preferred.
Basic knowledge of Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) products is preferred.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred; Relevant work experience required Time and Travel: The job may require travel, mainly throughout Southern California, and requires the employee to have the ability to operate a car safely.
The employee must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver’s license, proof of adequate car insurance and be able to work contiguous days with flexible scheduling over a seven-day week.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to move, lift and carry heavy objects, including supply boxes, and marketing collateral weighing up to 60 pounds.
The job requires the employee to stand and/or walk for long periods of time while performing duties, including giving presentations.
