Overview:
SENIOR SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER
This position requires an experienced software engineer who specializes in working with various types of APIs and embedded devices to join the Venstar IoT Devices Team.
You will be involved in the many projects in debugging software and hardware by creating custom loggers, creating test setups, troubleshooting embedded firmware and connected software issues, developing software for reports in order to enhance the current and future smart connected Venstar devices and products.
Requirements: 10+ years working in the related field
5+ years working with setting up tools, required infrastructure, and selcting and deploying appropriate debugging tools
5 + years reviewing, verifying, and validating the software code developed in embedded and cloud connected product projects.
5 + years building software with evidence of adhering to industry standard security principles.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar areas of study from a US credited University
Greater Los Angeles area preferred (remote work allowed).
Responsibilities:
Working with APIs and Embedded Software to help improve and debug software and hardware
Create custom loggers
Create test setups
Develop software for reports
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Knowlesge and Skills
Excellent understanding of cloud application design processes.
Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs and interfacing with API endpoints.
Proficient with databases and storage services.
Proficient in Javascript and C++ concepts.
Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts, good at solving complex technical problems, and using common design patterns.
Ability to meet short and long-term deadlines.
Ability to meet the company’s high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance.
Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job.

Travel requirement of up to 5%.
Compensation: 100,000 - 140,000K +
Additional COmpensation: $40 a day for lunch allowance
